3. The Sacrament of Holy Communion will be shared during the service of worship this morning.
4. The Season of Advent begins today. This a four-week preparation to celebrate the birth of the Lord Jesus. We have an Advent Wreath in the chancel that will have another candle lighted each week. Each will feature one element of our anticipation of the birth of Jesus. This first week it is Hope.
5. Our sincere Christian sympathy to Josh Heebner and family at the death of his father Roger on Wednesday. May God be with them at this time.
6. As we near the end of the financial year, we’re excited to announce our $25,000 Double Your Dollar Campaign! Thanks to the incredible generosity of two individuals in our church, every dollar you give during December will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $25,000 to our Renovation Fund. We hope to reach $50,000—or more—by December 31! We kindly ask that your Double Your Dollar gift be in addition to your regular generous giving by using the Renovation Fund Envelope or a Second Mile Offering Envelope and indicate Renovation Fund. 7. Advent Workshop happens today at 4:00pm Crafters please, be on time, crafts will start promptly! Don’t forget a dessert to share.
8. Carols & Songs December 15th, 6pm. Join us for our Carols & Songs Service! Celebrate the season with timeless carols, songs, and Scripture readings that highlight the anticipation and retelling of Jesus’ birth story. Bring your family and friends for this special evening.
9. Spring Kids Musical kick-off - Kindergarteners through teens are invited to our musical kickoff party Saturday, December 14th at 10am. We will play games, have snacks, and watch "The Bumble BEEattitudes" performance. We are looking for older kids to be skateboarders and a group of teenage girls. 10. Ladies of Leidy’s meets this Tuesday evening at 7:00 in Rm. 123. We will have some light refreshments as we review the recent Gift & Craft event as well as the fun of the Advent Workshop. Hope to see lots of our ladies there!
11. O.A.S.I.S. Christmas Luncheon happens on Thursday, December 12th from 11:30-1:30. There is the usual sign-up sheet in the hallway (which helps us know how many folks to prepare for, so please sign up early!). Come for a lively lunch and carol singing, warm fellowship and happy familiar faces and to wish each other a Merry Christmas!!
12. We are preparing to make our sanctuary look festive and welcoming during the Advent season. Please consider purchasing a poinsettia to help with these efforts. You will find order slips in the bulletin. Simply fill out the slip, place it in a pew envelope with cash or check, and drop it in one of the collection pillars.
13. Rice delivery to the two churches in Gaza is now anticipated to occur about December 8th. There are 28 pallets with 40 sacks of rice and one pallet of 30 sacks of rice. The pallets have been plastic-wrapped by hand, cardboard then was added to disguise the contents, and then each pallet was machine wrapped to secure everything. Samaritan’s Purse is overseeing the shipping of the rice to the two churches in northern Gaza. Continue to pray for the Lord Jesus to oversee and bring to a good conclusion this entire operation.
